A Long-term Invitation Program for University Students and graduate school students
2 Program Overview
This program aims to invite youths to Japan from other countries, in the wake of the Great East Japan Earthquake that occurred on March 11, 2011, to show them the efforts underway at disaster-affected area that are vigorously making recovery initiatives, and to promote understanding on reconstruction in Japan.
The program includes interaction with youth in disaster-affected area, participation in recovery support activities, and other projects, and it is expected that the youth invited will relay the current status of Japan’s reconstruction to the people of their countries through report presentations and other means of communicating their experience in the disaster-affected area after returning to their home countries.
3 Eligible Persons
University students, graduate school students, and others from the 10 ASEAN countries (Brunei, Cambodia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam), India, Australia, New Zealand, and East Timor
4 Program Course
■ A: Field Work Program: Reconstruction after the Great East Japan Earthquake and Revitalization in the Region (Iwate Prefecture) 14 people
■ B: Field Work Program: Reconstruction after the Great East Japan Earthquake and Industrial Restoration (Miyagi Prefecture) 14 people
■ C: Study Program + Field Work Program: Human Resource Development for Peacebuilding and Reconstruction after the Great East Japan Earthquake and Industrial Restoration (Hiroshima Prefecture) 14 people
■ D: Study Program + Field Work Program: Short-term Study University Program to learn Reconstruction efforts after the Great East Japan Earthquake and Industrial Restoration 14 people

6 Expenses
The implementation organization will cover the following expenses for the participants.
Round-trip plane ticket, Transportation costs, Fees for obtaining a visa, accommodation, meals, and others will be covered according to stipulations, Insurance sign-up fees, other expenses required for participation in the official program
